Fashion Show

Wella Show - Hairstyling and Haute Couture Haircuts

Spectators that overfilled the Grand Hall of The National Theatre from Bucharest were impressed by a glamorous fashion show in which the make-up and hairstyling trends of 2008 were displayed. The Gala lasted an entire day (27 November 2007) and included various workshops with demonstrations of haircutting and make-up, but also styling competitions with numerous trophies. The best haircuts appeared in the evening in a grandiose show in which everything was outstanding.The scene had as a background several scenes with video materials, while music, choreography and pyrotechnic effects gave the show an alert rhythm so every moment didn't miss the opportunity to impress the spectators (fashion specialists, mostly).read more and see images

City Mall was turned into a Fairy Land by 1000 Christmas carol singers

Bucharest's 4th District City Hall has organized at City Mall a Christmas carol festival at which took part 1000 singers from kinder gardens allover Bucharest with their teachers. Children were dressed in folkloric costumes or theme costumes and sang in front of Santa Clause traditional songs for this time of the year. They were all repaid with gifts by the mayor of the 4th District, Adrian Inimaroiu. Especially for December, City Mall, from Serban Voda Bvd has built at the second store a Fairy Castle of 12 m height, with 4 towers in which four teddy bears are rotating and with clocks that give announce the hour just like in medieval castles. Orhan Pamuk:

Nationalists do the opposite of serving their country

Nobel Price winner, Orhan Pamuk has visited Romania and had a series of meetings and discussions with his readers and fellow writers. At the Romanian Atheneum the Turkish novelist met with Norman Manea, Emil Hurezeanu, Tudor Octavian, Dragos Bucurenci, Ovidiu Simonca and hundreds of readers. read more and see images

 

Luxury Show

Cars, jewelry, furniture and boats worth 60 million euros displayed

This year's premium brands exhibition gathered 200 names in the exclusivistic industry. Fashion, jewelry and cars had their own special evenings, marked by spectacular events. Jewelry designer Oana Mizil will display a necklace worth 1.6 million euros, while precious stones expert Oana Ceciu will present a diamond that's estimated for over 150.000 euros.The 2007 edition, held in December, also aimed to be a charity edition by the association of Princess Margareta's Foundation who is to be the patron of an auction aimed to support talented young people. read more and see images

 

Historic justice act

President Basescu publicly condemns communism

The report of the Presidential Commission for Communism Study was published in the form of a book after its short form was read by President Basescu in front of the Parliament. There, Basescu had to front a loud opposition from the extremist leader Vadim Tudor and several leaders of PSD (Social Democratic, former Communist Party) who found the report was not telling the truth about Romania's past.
