Voronet Monastery

The Esoteric Message Behind Orthodox Painting

The Voronet Monastery is the most famous buildings of Stephan The Great, a monument included on the list of UNESCO's world heritage. Its frescos speak of subtle esoteric knowledge held by medieval theologians of Moldavia and also of the skills of anonymous painters.

Voronet is situated 5 km to Gura Humorului, in the county of Suceava. Starting 1991 the monastic life was resumed (after centuries) alongside with the now traditional tourist destination. The building was erected in 1488 in just three months and three weeks at the advice gave to the king by the legendary monk Daniel. The monastery was given by the king three villages and several posesions. read more

Ceausescu's Palace on the Inside

On certain occasions, such as the national day of Romania, The House of The People, or The Parliament Palace built by the communist dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu in the capital Bucharest is fully opened to the public and cameras. Usually, tours for tourists exclude the greater rooms of the building as various conferences take place there (corporate and political events), including the meetings of the Romanian Parliament. Due to its history, the giant building is largely hated by locals, but the good news is that this cube of marble and concrete looks better on the inside than on the outside, maybe because a great part of the decoration is recent, in the years that followed the anticommunist Revolution from 1989. read more and see images
