Though the area of the zoo garden in Baneasa makes it too small for a modern zoo, it is still one of the last places in the country where children can meet wild animals, which sometimes are not even reluctant to interact with their visitors. The garden used to have elephants and giraffes, but the financial situation of the administration forced it to limit the number of animals purchased. Until the plans of a new and much larger zoo for the city will become reality, you can still see in Baneasa a collection of monkeys, a lion pride and a family of tigers. Indoors there are several exhibitions of exotic birds (parrots) fish tanks and even crocodiles.
