Workers’ Day, the 1st of May, was marked by left wing rallies allover the world. Though they were not more than 30 young people attending, the British anarchists managed to block for a quarter of hour the iconic Tower Bridge. City police seemed to be caught by surprise by the sudden move, while tourists in open deck buses delighted taking pictures of the event.
The young anarchists sang socialist slogans like: „The rich, we wanna get rid of the rich!”, „Education is a right for the privileged”, „One solution: revolution, one direction: insurrection.” Condemning capitalist inequality, they shouted for social housing and for a society that puts „people before money and profit”.
The rally took on peacefully through the city, returning on the Blackfriars Bridge.
